Katie Lee
About Katie Lee:
Katie Lee is a renowned botanical and wildlife artist and
instructor. Herself, a graduate of the New York Botanical Garden
Botanical Illustration program, Katie has been an instructor at
that institution for the past 16 years. Ms. Lee teaches drawing,
watercolor, gouache and illustration courses at various programs
worldwide.
Katie has lead numerous sketching safaris in Botswana and field
sketching trips to South America.
Her uniquely realistic botanical and zoological paintings have
been successfully exhibited in one person shows in both the
United States and abroad. Katie's work can be found in private
collections in England, Australia, the United States of America
and South Africa. Her work has been accepted into the
prestigious Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum's Birds in Art
2002 and 2003. A number of Katie's works are in the Contemporary
Botanical Artists Collection of Dr. Shirley Sherwood; the
collection of the Hunt Institute for Botanical Documentation,
Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA; Bell Museum of
National History, University of Minnesota, MN; Weisman Museum,
Minneapolis, MN; Tryon Swann Gallery, London, England; Bruce
Museum, Greenwich, CT.
